Isekai agency is often misread as a simple climb up a ladder of destruction, when the real divide lies in whether a character masters the laws of physics or the laws of causality. Han Li represents the boundary of physical sovereignty. As a YPS-7 entity, his progression is a study in technical optimization and the calculated accumulation of external resources. He approaches the universe as a series of hostile variables to be solved through cultivation and artifact management, eventually reaching a state where he rewrites the physical laws that once constrained him. His agency is an expansion of self through the mastery of the material world. Conversely, Subaru Natsuki operates at a YPS-2 level, making any direct physical confrontation a mathematical impossibility. Yet, Subaru’s power is not found in his capacity to destroy, but in his capacity to endure and iterate. While Han Li builds a fortress of power to insulate himself from the world, Subaru weaponizes his own trauma to bridge the gap between himself and others. His "Return by Death" is a narrative correction mechanism rather than a combat skill, forcing him to trade his psychological stability for strategic information. The large YPS gap between them is not a measure of who wins a fight, but a distinction between two different philosophies of existence: Han Li seeks to transcend the system by becoming its architect, while Subaru seeks to survive the system by becoming a deeply informed victim. One conquers the environment; the other reconstructs the timeline through sheer emotional labor.
Archetype breakdowns and dispute court land in later phases.
