Comparing a YPS-2 physical tank to a YPS-7 world-shaper is a categorical error; the scale of their impact is so disparate that combat metrics are irrelevant. Instead, the real tension lies in their shared void of Ego. Both characters operate as vessels for others, though they occupy opposite ends of the power spectrum. Darkness transforms her lack of self-determination into a shield, finding purpose in the erasure of her own dignity for the sake of her party. Her value is derived from her capacity to endure, making her a pillar of emotional and physical stability in a chaotic group. Rimuru, conversely, achieves a similar ego-death by evolving into a corporate entity. Their identity is not a person, but a system of governance. While Darkness submits to the pain of the moment, Rimuru submits to the demands of the state. One protects through vulnerability; the other protects through total systemic control. This reveals a recurring isekai trope: consistent characters are those who stop trying to be individuals and instead become functions. Darkness is the function of the Shield, and Rimuru is the function of the State. By removing personal desire from the equation, both characters bypass the typical protagonist's struggle, trading their humanity for a specific, utilitarian role in their respective worlds.
