Comparing a YPS-2 masochist against a YPS-6 reality-warping monarch exposes the inherent absurdity of measuring isekai protagonists by raw output alone. Their power types operate on entirely different axes, rendering standard physical comparisons irrelevant; where one is a durable tank designed to absorb punishment for comedic effect, the other is a scaling engine that systematically dismantles the fabric of his world. However, looking past the YPS gulf reveals a shared dependency on external systems that dictate their utility. Both characters are defined not by their autonomy, but by their subservience to a narrative structure—Darkness to the farce of her own masochism, and Jinwoo to the cold, mechanical progression of the System. They serve as opposite poles of the same genre impulse: one represents the character as a punchline who finds purpose in the degradation of the hero role, while the other embodies the character as an algorithm that strips the hero role of all challenge. Jinwoo’s maxed-out Ego highlights the fantasy of total agency, yet he is just as trapped within his scripted progression as Darkness is within her own recurring gags. Ultimately, they prove that in isekai, whether you destroy a planet or merely endure a hit, your true value is determined by how efficiently you fulfill your assigned narrative function.
